Pattaya – stay safe and stay informed!

Covid-19 Update – Keeping informed in Pattaya.

Pattaya and it’s surrounding settlements are located within the district of Chonburi. With the resurgence of Covid-19, Chonburi has been designated a High Risk area and therefore a number of restrictions and limitations on travel have been introduced.

This produces a great deal of ‘news’ and false reports with some media jumping too quickly on breaking stories and others continuing ‘click bait’ with sensationalised headlines to gain attention. The jungle news is also just as hyped with many times repeated ‘news’ based purely on hearsay.

To avoid confusion yet remain totally informed I highly recommend 2 main sources for correct information in Thailand. The first is The Pattaya News who analyse each article before it is published delivering only researched and officially approved local news on Covid-19 status. My second is Richard Barrow who is a preeminent Blogger with direct insights and contacts with the Thai governmental sources. His news is again, factual, correct and precise. I have both of the above on Twitter and their regular tweets are my primary source of information to help me remain well informed with factual information.

The Thai authorities are also requesting registration on two Apps that are designed to help trace Covid-19 outbreaks. I highly recommend that you download MorChana and Thai Chana. Yes, Mor Chana tracks your location but I feel that it is good to know if I have been near an affected area. Both Apps are free to download on App Store or Google Play.

Stay save and stay informed in Pattaya!
