Don’t miss the Weekend Brunch at the Sandbar, Dongtan Beach
With Covid-19 restrictions and limitations continuing, Sandbar has shown a ray of hope by introducing Brunch on Saturday and Sundays from 11:30 to 14:30. In addition to excellent food the Sandbar Brunch provides an opportunity to meet old friends in the wonderful open air, relaxed, refined, Florida Keys ambience of Sandbar, on Dongtan Beach.
The Brunch is a compact buffet complemented with a choice of one of the à la carte dishes for THB.475. Whilst it is a modest buffet, it is constantly refreshed and represents excellent value. The variety will satisfy even the largest of appetites.
There is a choice of Fresh Fruit juices and smoothies to start. You can take one of their suggestions or even create your own. The bread selection is comprehensive and fresh, complemented with a choice of cold meats and 4 different cheeses and salads on one table. Then a noodle buffet with a good choice to suit the Asian tastes. Pancakes, waffles and fresh hash-browns are grilled in front of you.
The choice from the menu is vast including Eggs, Corned Beef Hash, Croissants, Eggs Benedict, Omelettes, French Toast, Waffles, Pastrami, Fruit Creations and more Pancakes. I tried the Parisian Benedict and can highly recommend this dish. It is a twist on an Egg Benedict with excellent Virginia ham, a strong cheese(probably Emmentaler), poached egg and a light yet sharp Hollandaise Sauce. I particularly liked the sautéed mushrooms that provided a crunchy, earthy flavour to perfectly balance the tangy flavour of the Hollandaise.
My partner chose the Mango Pancakes. Two perfectly griddled pancakes, a lovely display of mango accompanied by white dragon-fruit, blueberries, strawberries, a sprinkling of young coconut topped with whipped cream.
The Brunch is accompanied by unlimited tea and coffee.
The Sandbar has an ambience like no other in Pattaya with the fresh breeze from the bay blowing off the sea, light jazz music in the background and attentive service. Excellent value for THB.475 and a wonderful opportunity to get out and see friends. Sandbar has many plans for future brunches and I believe that the Sandbar Brunches will soon become a fixed appointments on the social calendars of many living here.
